Buying music online. Lots of people seem to do that nowadays, or so I’ve heard people say… haha.
And yes… finally esc.rec. is also making several releases available in a variety of high quality downloadable formats (flac, ogg and mp3). I guess it had to happen sooner or later. I personally enjoy physical releases so much more. Something I can touch and look at, even smell sometimes. But I can’t be blind to the convenience many people see in digital downloads. Even I can recognize that…
So here it is: esc.rec. teamed up with Sixmo.com to make several of it’s releases available as downloads. Not all of them (yet), mind you.
So far, I’m really pleased with Sixmo, the (Dutch) indie download service! Their system seems really easy to use and they have great service (thanks Yvo!). Also they seem to be really sympathetic and flexible towards ‘new’ directions in the music industry, Creative Commons and deviating business models in general. In other words, Sixmo fits esc.rec. like a glove. I’ll have to see if I’m going to look for any other additional download services later (like the iTunes and the Beatports out there) to reach out a bit further.
