We have been planning a Toxic Chicken release on esc.rec. for quite some time now. But getting the material for such a release out of London appears to be a bit troublesome. Latest hassle is the pubic hairs in Toxic’s cd burning device. Deliberately smashing his laptop in the heat of a live performance at Club Bohemia (see picture on the left) can’t have helped either i guess…
Anyway, to soothen the wait, he has sent us a pure lo-fi gifkip plop mix, the ‘anarchypeacelovemix’. Vocals are by Serafina Ouistiti (check website) and Toxic Chicken himself. Use with caution, this insane piece of toxic audio is said to have many secret powers, so don’t say we didn’t warn you… Get the free download here.

Listen here to last night’s broadcast of esc.rec. special @ Concertzender. With sounds by MAGA, Gluid, Dion, Igor Krutogolov, Radboud Mens and Dreamspeed. Check it!
The beach libraries are open again in July and August when the wheather is good. In case you’ve never heard of the beach libraries (I know I didn’t), you can find more info at www.strandbibliotheek.nl. I think it is a great initiative, especially because – besides good books – they also lend you i-Pods filled with music and podcasts. Gluid is also in one of the music collections. Imagine chilling on those sounds while lying on the beach. Can you get any closer to heaven? More info on the i-Pod collections overhere. More info on Gluid overhere.
A Gluid track was also used for a film project by Liseth Medema. Check some of her work at www.lisethmedema.nl. This film is still shown at Galerie Noorderlicht in Groningen untill July 14th.

New release! esc.rec.11: slo-fi’s latest hits
A shiny, shiny, shiny disc full of subtle but sturdy acid driven techno tracks by slo-fi, one of Roel Meelkop’s monikers. Sometimes almost trance inducing, sometimes incorporating minimal experimental electronics and field recordings (was that a breast pump?), but most of the time gently lashing out at the dancefloor. Order now!
