Toxic Chicken is an artist/band, musician, producer, video artist, dj and dancer/performer. He makes music with his computer, but it’s mainly his spastic performance style that makes him one of the greatest talents you’ve never heard of. His music is nuts, insane, anarchistic, electronic and more than music: It’s a lifestyle and full entertainment for weirdos and crazy people. He combines music with ideas, animations and performances to make his live set on stage a true happening.
Although Toxic Chicken has been making music and performing live for quite a long time now, ‘Lo Fi’ is his first album release so far. Beautiful, catchy lofi melodies clash with hectic beat spasms in songs inspired by his personal life in and out of London’s underground. Basically, this is how a shot of pure adrenaline gets moulded into raw, energetic, and yet carefully constructed chunks of audio.
Dare to be chicken, very pok!

Binnensuis is a short theater play/dance performance, made by dancer Janneke Lenzen, musician Bram van den Oever (Gluid) and writer Jehudi van Dijk.
Binnensuis is an experiment. The monologues Jehudi van Dijk wrote for this performance, were recorded by Bram van den Oever with the voice of Janneke Lenzen. He then modified and remixed these recordings into a stunning piece of music. Dancer Janneke Lenzen worked with this material to come up with a fitting choreography. For a long time the three individual creators of Binnensuis worked seperately on this project. Only in the final stage of the process all the parts were fused together to form Binnensuis.
Binnensuis wants to show the disturbing world inside the head of an alienated, lonely woman, who rarely leaves her house and is plagued by a multitude of different phobia and severe neurotic behaviour.
Esc.rec. felt that Gluid’s soundtrack (if you can still call it that) for this performance is so strong and autonomous that it was decided to make a release out of it. The unique, handcrafted artwork for the limited release (50 copies) is cooked up by Vormversterker. The artwork for this (unlimited) version is also made by Vormversterker.

Peter made this design for MOMI, which you might still be able to order overhere, if you’re quick, because they’re almost sold out.

Well, I’ve finally somewhat recovered from MOMI-fest beta 1.0 and the Havenkwartier opening festival in Havenkwartier Deventer. MOMI-fest was a big succes! The bands were great! So was the expo, the lecture and the poetry! And the audience of course!
After MOMI-fest beta 1.0 some dj’s took over; Brandz, Maga and Radion got them feet dancing alright! I (or was it Cette Truc) was also supposed to play along with them, but Radion was on a roll with a truly smashing dj-set and it seemed like a shame to cut him short. So instead I just danced out all the last energy I had left in me…
Anyway, I could probably ramble on about how good MOMI-fest was for a long time, but for now I’ll refrain to just showing you where you can find some pictures. Click this link for pictures of MOMI-fest and this link for pictures of Havenkwartier Deventer.
