Complete esc.rec. catalogue now available through Bandcamp

All esc.rec. releases are now available through Bandcamp. This means you can now listen to (stream) all tracks ever released by esc.rec. for free! That’s right! You’ll find embeddable Bandcamp players on all release pages for your convenience. Or you can go to Bandcamp to browse the esc.rec. catalogue there.

The esc.rec. releases that were already free downloads (torrents!) are of course also free downloads on Bandcamp. For the other Bandcamp downloads you have to pay a small minimum price, but you are encouraged to pay more if you like… there’s no shame in paying for good music, now is there? Most of this money is going straight to the artist(s), small percentages go to Bandcamp and esc.rec. for keeping this service alive.

Most of the physical esc.rec. releases are still available, but I decided to discontinue some of the older releases. They are now only available as digital downloads through Bandcamp.

Facebook Like

I finally came round to adding Facebook Like buttons to all esc.rec. releases. So now you can like ‘m all you want…

Klub Dub

Another Klub Dub night next Saturday in Burgerweeshuis Deventer. Nice line-up again, even featuring some esc.rec. artists this time! Although it’s not on the poster Dion will work together with Radion on this one. Expect roaring dubstep from these two!

And although Jason Köhnen (Bong-Ra) isn’t to be found on the esc.rec. roster anywhere, we sure aren’t strangers. I have recently been helping out The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (of which Jason is a founding member) with a bit of advice on how to set up some sort of new label situation for them… I was actually quite honoured to hear that they felt esc.rec. was a suitable role model for that (instead of their current labels Planet Mu or Ad Noisam for example).

Toxic Chicken in Bangkok

Toxic Chicken has been living in Bangkok for some time now. And from what I hear he’s doing just fine overthere. Today I discovered he’s into fashion these days…

Natty (a 15 year old contestant of Academy Fantasia who can actually sing) is the first one who is wearing a Toxic Chic stunning eye blinking military inspired top.

I also found his ‘It’s Handmade Mate’ CD. A double album in a handpainted one of a kind cover of pure toxicness. For now only available in Bangkok at Baking Soda, where you can also buy Toxic Chic clothes.

Update: I seem to have stumbled across Toxic Chic too early. The website officially launches in November… In the mean time Toxic Chicken is working on soundtracks for three(!) fashion shows at Elle Fashion Week in Bangkok and making preparations for some more live shows this month.
